Samhain and Shadow Work

Samhain pronounced “Sow in” is an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter, symbolizing death, rebirth, and the thinning of the veil between the living and the spirit world.

Over in the northern hemisphere it’s 31st october and what the commercial halloween was derived from, as samhain is that also known over in mexico as day of the dead, hence a lot of the halloween costumes, the true meaning of samhain and day of the dead is honouring those who have passed, our ancestors and celebrating their life.

The traditional date here is 30th April, tho we will be doing close to that, 2nd May

This is also a perfect time to do shadow work, shadow work is confronting the repressed unconscious parts of ourselves which we often hide from old traumas which then causes us to be triggered by something someone else may do or say.

Shadow work is challenging and can be very confronting but if you can work through old hurts/traumas to heal yourself you can be reborn.

*please note i’m not a doctor or psychologist or psychiatrist, this will be an introduction to shadow work, can very very powerful if you choose to do it but please if you have very deep seated traumas or hurts, things like PTSD or CPTSD sometimes can be beneficial to seek help whilst doing it with a psychologist or medical professional
